Sobre mi

I am an assistant professor at the Leiden Institute of Physics (LION), where I am a tenure-track principal investigator at the Applied Quantum Algorithms group, with an ERC Starting Grant.
My research interests comprise quantum algorithms, near-term implementations, device-independent quantum information processing, convex optimization, entanglement theory, quantum machine learning and tensor networks. In the Links section you can find my network of collaborators, and in the Pictures section some dear memories.

Breve CV

I am both a mathematician and a telecommunications engineer. I studied the corresponding double degree at CFIS, in the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. I have a M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics in the branch of Algebra and Geometry. In 2011 I started my Ph.D. at ICFO - The Institute of Photonic Sciences in the Quantum Optics Theory group led by Prof. Dr. Maciej Lewenstein, under the co-supervision of Dr. Remigiusz Augusiak. In 2015 I defended my Ph.D. thesis Characterizing entanglement and quantum correlations constrained by symmetry. In 2016 I obtained a CELLEX-ICFO-MPQ fellowship and moved to Germany, where I started working at the Theory Division of the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics, led by Prof. Dr. Ignacio Cirac. There I obtained a Marie Curie individual fellowship and an Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral fellowship.

Apart from Science, I have other interests. I am keen on programming algorithms and other stuff. I play violin since 1994: I have played in Vic Chamber Orchestra (OCV) and in Segle XXI Symphonic Orchestra. Currently, I am part of the Bruckner Akademie Orchester, taking lessons from Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra's maestro Michael Friedrich and Diogenes Quartett. I consider myself a quite devoted follower of the main religion in Catalunya. Ah, and I am always ready for a LoL/CsGO troll match.
