I am always interested in collaborating with motivated and creative individuals at various levels; whether as postdoctoral researchers, PhD candidates, M.Sc./B.Sc. students, or external collaborators.
Below are the current opportunities and guidelines for working together.
I welcome inquiries from independent researchers who have developed their own research trajectories, particularly in: device-independent quantum information processing, quantum algorithms, entanglement theory, and tensor networks.
While these topics serve as a foundation, there is flexibility to explore your own ideas within the broader framework of our group's research.
The Quantum Limits programme — a NWO Summit consortium of which I am a co-investigator — runs the Ada Lovelace Fellowship, a three-year postdoctoral fellowship for female researchers, hostable at Leiden or the Delft partner institutes. It covers salary plus a research budget, with a free choice of topic within the programme.
As a co-PI I can host such a fellow at Leiden and provide the supporting-PI letter the call requires. A project in my group would sit most naturally within the programme's Space (multipartite nonlocality and the quantization of space) and Complexity (the complexity of certifying and simulating quantum systems) research lines, and could also touch Time.
Applications are reviewed twice a year (deadlines 28 February and 30 September), with the PI's letter submitted separately — so if this is of interest, please get in touch well before the deadline. Full details are in the official call (PDF).
I encourage applications from highly motivated students with strong backgrounds in theoretical physics, quantum computing, applied mathematics, or related fields.
To apply for any position, please include the following documents:
While specific opportunities may be advertised from time to time, I welcome inquiries at any point. However, due to the high volume of applications I receive, response times may vary significantly.
